Melissa Green of Wirestream joins the podcast today to talk about Marketing Technology and her new company she recently launched after leaving the digital agency, VML.  Melissa began her career in customer service and due to her knowledge of platforms and solutions she quickly went into project management, and later to VML where her title was Managing Director, Technology.  As you listen to the show, it is clear she is passionate about providing customer service and advice to her clients that they need, not just what will make her the best commission.  That is rare in the agency world and we are glad she is putting out her flag to provide these kinds of customer experiences.  As an integrator, Melissa works with all the players during a project and helps coordinate the conversations.  We are very excited to work with Melissa and I know you would benefit from connecting with her.  Toward the end of the show Melissa gets into what she is looking forward to; moving from large agency to a small regional business of her own.

Melissa was asked during the show what the three mistakes she sees marketing teams make with technology.  Here is her list:

  • Under-buy, Over-buy, or Just Use What They Have – It is critical that you use the solution that fits for you and not just the outside forces within or outside the organization. 
  • IT and Marketing Communication Early – Don’t wait until you select a solution for either department, but bring everyone to the table to ensure needs are met from both sides.
  • New Website without Goal Assessment – Several companies just want a new website because theirs looks dated and not because it doesn’t align with their goals.  If you are looking to do a redesign, you need to ensure you know where your company is going and who your customers are and will be.
