Curtis Lauterbach

I grew up on a farm and learning by working on equipment that not everything is made easy.  We had to engineer some quick fixes that would allow us to get the job done correctly and quickly.  In my college education I decided that I wanted to take my creativity and help create products that meet the user’s needs.  I entered the User Experience field because I enjoy working with people and making their ideas come to life and ensure that they are usable.  In UX I have been able to take ideas and create products that meet user’s needs.

I started out at Wichita State University evaluating the usability of WebMD and HealthCentral.  I also did usability testing and have done testing for companies such as Motorola and Nuance.  At Missouri Western State University, I picked up applicable information on designing and this information has been influential to my understanding of why certain usability problems exist and how to make recommendations for change.  Some of the projects I have worked on were evaluated websites for basic design requirements, such as, IowaWorks and Missouri Western State University’s admission’s process, and creating an application for cancer patients.

In UX I have been able to take ideas and create products that meet user’s needs.
