The Industrial Diagnosis
Answer-First: Keyword cannibalization is the silent killer of organic growth. It happens when two or more pages target the exact same keyword with the same intent. Instead of one strong page ranking #1, you end up with two pages fluctuating between positions 8 and 14. Google simply doesn’t know which version to trust.
The fix isn’t just “deleting pages.” It’s about Intent Mapping. By analyzing your Google Search Console (GSC) data through our Matrix, you can visualize which URLs are “stealing” impressions from each other. Once identified, you can merge them into a “Power Page,” differentiate their sub-intents, or use canonicals to signal the primary authority.
Operation Guide
Most SEOs ignore cannibalization because it’s tedious to find. We’ve automated the detection logic. Here is how to use the Matrix:
EXPORT GSC DATA
In Google Search Console, go to Search Results. Filter by the last 3 months. Click “Export” and choose “Download CSV”. Extract the ZIP file.
INGEST INTO ENGINE
Drop the `Queries.csv` and `Pages.csv` into the tool above. Our algorithm matches keywords to their competing URLs by cross-referencing click and impression patterns.
IDENTIFY & DESTROY
“High Risk” means multiple pages are ranking on Page 1 or 2 for the same query. Pick the ‘Alpha’ page and 301-redirect the ‘Parasite’ page into it to pass the link equity.
